Outer Shell

To prevent continuous strain and bending, 3 mm steel plates are welded electrically as a back panel and side plates.

Doors

The doors are made of a fine grain stainless steel finish on a 10 mm thick rust-resistant refined steel plate, closely fitted to the box opening and designed to swing clear (i.e. 180 degrees) for unobstructed access to the bond boxes.

Hinges

Precision built, made of solid brass and chrome-plated to resist corrosion.  Made in two sections, with the door section recessed in the heel of the door itself so that only the hinge knuckle is exposed on the door surface.  Rear flanges interlock behind the jamb section when the door is shut, so that the door cannot be opened even if the hinges are slightly off-centered to allow the door to open perfectly at 180 degrees, facilitating easy handling of inner boxes.

Locking Devices

Pick proof security door lock designed to provide maximum security.  It is also self-lubricating for minimum maintenance.  Specially constructed tumblers prevent insertion and turning of renter's key until the guard key has been operated.  Nickel finish lock-noses (for the renter and guard keys) and extra long bolt lock provide maximum security.  Brass keys resist wear and corrosion, and extra depth of key-cuts improves security.

Coating

The box interior is coated with rust-proofed material before refinishing.  The same treatment is given to the box door.

Partitions

3 mm steel plates serve as vertical and horizontal partitions.

​

Numbering

To identify the boxes, easily readable numbers can be affixed to the door plates.  These numbers can be sequenced vertically or horizontally.
