FIRE RESISTANT SERIES

Lockset

FS vault doors are equipped with manipulation resistive key changing combination locks.

Emergency exit

An escape handle is also included to allow for the instant release of a person inadvertently locked inside the vault. The vault door will then automatically return to its locked position after the emergency exit is used.  This procedure does not require the re-dialing of the combination.

Hinges

The FS series are also furnished with ball-bearing offset hinges to allow a full and clear opening.

Mounting Frames

The mounting frames (wall clamps) are adjustable to provide 1 " over the standard recommended vault wall thickness, thereby permitting the clasping of the masonry or the wall without dimensional charges.

Finish

There is an option between stainless steel cladding or day gate.

Installation Information

The finished floor level is used as a reference point for  measuring the masonry opening height.  For example, if a 3/8" carpet is to used on the floor, the opening height shall be increased by a corresponding 3/8".

FS Vault Doors are built to clamp a wall within the specified thickness for each model.  If the wall thickness is greater than the maximum specified, a 2" recess must be formed in the inside portion of the vault room.  Likewise, if the wall thickness is less than specified, the wall thickness along the opening must be protected by a 2" width.

The wall opening should be constructed accurately to the size specified for a particular masonry opening.  Care must be taken to ensure that the opening is squared and that the sides are plumb.

The space between the wall opening at the sides and top must not exceed 1/2".  This is essential in the interests of maintaining maximum security and protection.
